Satsangs in Auckland by Dr Janani Vasudevanji
With the abundant blessings of His Holiness Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, Auckland was blessed with a spiritually enriching week in the divine company of Dr Janani Vasudevanji, from 14–20 July 2026. The programme, presented as the “Divine Lecture Series – Stree Shakti,” brought together devotees across Auckland for seven days filled with satsang, Nama, inspiring stories of great women saints, celebration, fellowship and Mahaprasada.
Divine Lecture Series – Stree Shakti
The week-long Stree Shakti series beautifully highlighted the lives, devotion and spiritual strength of extraordinary women devotees and saints. Each evening provided an opportunity for devotees to come together in intimate satsang settings and immerse themselves in their inspiring lives.
The series began on Tuesday with Sant Janabai, followed by Sant Meerabai on Wednesday, Sri Sharada Devi on Thursday and Sri Ammalu Ammal on Friday. On Saturday evening, the programme continued with Nama Vaishnavis, and the concluding discourse on Monday was Sadguru Paduka Mahima.
Through her engaging and heartfelt style, Jananiji brought these divine personalities closer to the listeners, reminding everyone that true Stree Shakti is rooted in unwavering faith, surrender, courage, devotion and love for Bhagavan and Guru.
Puri Kshetra Mahima & Chappan Bhog
Saturday, 18 July, became one of the highlights of the week with the celebration of Puri Kshetra Mahima and Chappan Bhog.
The morning commenced with Dhyana Shlokas, Gajendra Stuthi and Guru Vandanam, followed by an enlightening lecture on Puri Kshetra Mahima . From noon, devotees participated in Nama chanting, after which a magnificent Chappan Bhog was lovingly offered to Bhagavan and subsequently shared as Mahaprasada.
The beautifully adorned forms of Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra added a special charm to the celebration.
More than the number or variety of dishes, however, the Chappan Bhog reflected the collective bhava of the devotees. Each preparation became an offering of gratitude and love, transforming the occasion into a beautiful expression of community seva and devotion.
Chant, Cheer & Cherish – Ladies’ Day Out
Sunday, 19 July brought a completely different yet equally memorable dimension to Jananiji’s visit with “Chant, Cheer & Cherish – Ladies’ Day Out.”
It was a wonderful opportunity for women and girls to step away from their usual routines and spend time together in an atmosphere centred around Nama, friendship, joy and spiritual companionship.
The outing demonstrated that satsang is not confined to a formal prayer hall. When devotees come together remembering Bhagavan, even a simple day out becomes an extension of satsang.
A Community United in Seva
Another striking aspect of the entire week was the spirit of collective participation. Programmes were hosted at GurusmaraN as well as in devotees’ homes across Auckland, allowing the divine experience of satsang to reach different parts of the community.
Behind every discourse, every decoration, every offering and every plate of Mahaprasada were many unseen hands. Families opened their homes, volunteers coordinated the programmes, devotees prepared food, decorated the altar, arranged the gatherings and welcomed participants.
A Week to Cherish
Dr Janani Vasudevanji’s Auckland visit was much more than a series of lectures. It became a week-long celebration of Bhakti.
From the inspiring lives of Janabai, Meerabai, Sharada Devi and Ammalu Ammal, to the grandeur of Chappan Bhog; from collective Nama chanting to the laughter and companionship of the Ladies’ Day Out; and finally to the contemplation of Sadguru Paduka Mahima, every programme carried its own flavour while remaining rooted in devotion to Bhagavan and Guru.
The week left behind beautiful memories, renewed friendships and, above all, a deeper appreciation of Nama, Bhakti, Satsang and Seva.
With immense gratitude, Auckland devotees offer humble pranams at the lotus feet of Sri Swamiji, whose blessings made this memorable week possible. May the Nama that brought everyone together continue to resonate in our hearts and homes.
