Udhayastamana Sapthaham at Hyderabad
By the immense grace of our beloved Sri Swamiji, a Srimad Bhagavatha Udhayastamana Sapthaham was conducted at the residence of Radha Padmanabhanji in Hyderabad from 26th July to 1st August 2025. The sapthaham was led by four Mahila Bhagavathas, with great devotion and meticulous planning.
The event commenced on 25th July with an insightful English discourse by Smt. Priyankaji, who elaborated on the greatness of the Moksha Grantham, Srimad Bhagavatam. The session concluded with the rendition of the Madhurageetham Agaccha Agaccha Sajjana Sangham by Ms. Vembu, with 20 devotees joining in joyful chorus.
From 26th July to 1st August, parayanam and pravachanam were offered as part of the Udhayastamana Sapthaham in both Telugu and English. The day’s schedule began with parayanam at 6 am, attended by around 25 devotees. This was followed by a Telugu pravachanam by Kanya Sisters. Parayanam continued throughout the day with short breaks for breakfast and lunch, concluding each evening with an English pravachanam by Priyankaji.
The pravachanams were thoughtfully planned to align with the day’s parayanam content, allowing devotees to connect deeply with the essence of the chapters. The Bhagavathas’ eloquence, clarity in expression, and rich use of examples resonated beautifully with the Hyderabad satsang audience. Their engaging delivery held the listeners captivated throughout.
Topics covered during the week included the Kapila Bhagavan Avataram, Bhishma Stuthi, Dhruva Charitram, Prithu Maharaj Charitram, Ajamila Upakhyanam, Daksha Yagnam, Gajendra Stuthi, Krishna Avataram and Leelas, Gopika Geetham, Sudama Charitram, and concluded with a Sankshepa Vivaranam of Srimad Bhagavatam leaving a lasting impression and invoking Pushti Bhakti in all.
This was the first Bhagavatam pravachanam rendered in Telugu by the Kanya Sisters in Hyderabad, and their simplicity of language and soulful delivery drew much appreciation. Their melodious rendition of Madhurageethams and Guru Kirtans added to the divine experience.
Hariniji’s chanting of Bhagavatha slokas in Chandas style stood out for its clarity and sweetness.
The sapthaham witnessed participation of around 30 devotees for Parayanam and nearly 50 for the Pravachanam sessions. Many devotees actively joined in chanting during the parayanam, making it a vibrant and devotional offering.
On 1st August, the concluding day, the Bhagavathas offered stirring Madhurageethams and Guru Kirtans that moved the hearts of the devotees. A special song on Anjaneya and the Telugu Maha Mantra Anthem were also rendered, with all devotees joyfully joining in chorus, wrapping up the week-long celebration in divine fervour.
For the Hyderabad satsang, the four Bhagavathas were no less than Sanakadi Rishis, sent to kindle Jnana, Bhakti, and Vairagya, and guide the devotees to tread the Pushtimarg. With deep gratitude at the Holy Lotus Feet of our beloved Sri Swamiji, the devotees of Hyderabad remain ever indebted for His Avyaja Krupa, which made this spiritually enriching sapthaham possible.
