Sriniketan, Vrindavan

Just the word “Brindavanam” can cast a spell of magic and attraction in our hearts. Brindavanam is bigger and more significant than Vaikundam itself. According to Srimad Bhagavatham, “श्रयत इन्दिरा शश्वदत्र हि ||”. The Supreme Lord, who is called पूर्णं ब्रह्म सनातनं or कृष्णस्तु भगवान् स्वयं, had assumed a Nama and form and played with immense freedom and happiness in this very land. Srimad Bhagavatham states that Sri Rama and Sri Krishna themselves became overwhelmed with love and affection when they visited Brindavanam.

वृन्दावनं गोवर्धनं यमुनापुलिनानि च |
वीक्ष्यासीत् उत्तमाप्रीति: राममाधवयो: नृप ||

The sand that exists today in Brindavanam is the same sand that was once touched by the Divine Feet of Paramathma. In spite of the modern buildings and amenities, the land remains to be the same that was embraced by the divine feet. Furthermore, this is the land which was caressed by the lotus feet of our Swamini Sri Radha Devi, the divine consort of Lord Krishna. It is the very land that is situated on the banks of the Prema river Yamuna. The holy sand (rajas) of Brindavanam, the offerings (prasadham) of Puri, and the water from the Ganges are considered to be the personifications of the Supreme Lord. Lord Brahma and Lord Indra bowed down to Brindavana Krishna only.

It is this Brindavanam that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu wanted to go to. Sri Vallabhar, Sri Meera, Sri Hitaharivamsar, Sri Gopala Bhattar, Sri Nimbarkar, and our Gurunathar Sri Sri Anna, were all in deep meditation of this Brindavanam. Tamil poets Andal and Oothukkadu Venkata Kavi performed Mangalasasanam of Brindavanam from Tamil Nadu.

No matter how many rivers flow into the ocean, the ocean is never satisfied. People who have a desire for ornaments and clothes are not satisfied no matter how many ornaments and clothes they have. People who are greedy for money will not be satisfied, no matter how much money they earn. People who are hungry for knowledge are not satisfied, no matter how much they learn. The question “Why” will not arise for a person with desire and interest. Only those who have no desire or interest will come up with useless questions like “Why should I learn so much? Why should I buy so many clothes and ornaments? Why should I earn so much money? etc. Similarly, devotees who are engrossed in the devotion and love of Sri Krishna will not be satisfied no matter how many temples there are in Brindavanam. As a result, there are so many temples and ashrams – around 5000 – in Brindavanam.

In 1995, in order to provide our satsang members with a place to stay and enjoy and experience Brindavanam to its fullest, a place was bought and named Sriniketan. Although many other Kainkaryams were completed under our trusts, this Brindavanam Project remained uninitiated. On the occasion of 2013 Rasa Purnima, Sri Sri Anna consecrated Sri Brindavana Vihari, Radha Raman there.

Only when we do seva for Bhagavathas and Bhakthas, Bhagavan will give us the opportunity to serve him. We recently did a kainkaryam at the mandir of Sri Lalitha Devi, who was the beloved friend of our Swamini Radha Devi. The seva was wholeheartedly accepted by Lalitha Devi, which in turn made Swamini Radha Devi immensely happy. As a result, the construction work of Sadhu Sangam has started in Sriniketan. Some glimpses are shared below. Sri Vrajdas and Sri Yuvraj Upadhyay from our Satsang are staying in Brindavanam and doing service. R Venkatesan is supervising the construction works.

ப்ருந்தாவனம் என்ற ஒரு சொல்லே எல்லோருக்கும் ஆகர்ஷனத்தை கொடுக்கக்கூடியது. இந்த ப்ருந்தாவனம் என்பது வைகுண்டத்தை காட்டிலும் உயர்ந்தது. ஸ்ரீ மத்பாகவதத்திலும் श्रयत इन्दिरा शश्वदत्र हि || என்று வருகின்றது. पूर्णं ब्रह्म सनातनं, அல்லது कृष्णस्तु भगवान् स्वयं என்று சொல்லக்கூடிய பரமாத்மா ஒரு நாம ரூபத்தை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு ஸ்வச்சந்தமாக விளையாடிய பூமி இது. ராம க்ருஷ்ணர்களே, இந்த ப்ருந்தாவனத்தை பார்த்து பரம ப்ரீதியை அடைந்தார்கள் என்று ஸ்ரீ மத்பாகவதம் கூறுகிறது.

அந்த பரமாத்மாவின் பாதம் பட்ட அதே மண் தான் இப்பொழுது ப்ருந்தாவனத்தில் இருக்ககூடிய மண். கட்டிடங்கள் வந்திருக்கலாம், நவீன வசதிகள் வந்திருக்கலாம் ஆனால் பூமி மட்டும் அதே பூமி தானே. பரமாத்மாவின் கால் பட்ட பூமி. அதுமட்டும் இல்லை, ஸ்வாமினியான ஸ்ரீராதா தேவியின் கால் பட்ட பூமி. ப்ரேம நதியான யமுனை கரையில் உள்ள பூமி. ப்ருந்தாவனத்துடைய ரஜஸ், பூரி ப்ரசாதம், கங்கா ஜலம் மூன்றும் ப்ரம்மமே. இந்த ப்ருந்தாவன க்ருஷ்ணனை அல்லவோ இந்திரன் அடி பணிந்தான். இந்த ப்ருந்தாவன க்ருஷ்ணனை அல்லவோ ப்ரம்மா வந்து அடி பணிந்தார்.

இந்த ப்ருந்தாவனத்திற்கல்லவோ மஹாப்ரபு போக வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்பட்டார். ஸ்ரீவல்லபர், மீரா, ஹிதஹரிவம்சர், கோபால பட்டர், நிம்பார்கர், நமது குருநாதர் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா, இந்த ப்ருந்தாவன த்யானத்திலேயே மூழ்கியவர்கள் அன்றோ. தமிழ்நாட்டில் பிறத்த ஆண்டாள், ஊத்துக்காடு வேங்கடகவி இங்கிருந்தே ப்ருந்தாவனத்தை மங்களாஸாசனம் செய்தார்களே.

சமுத்திரத்திற்கு எவ்வளவு நதிகள் வந்து விழுந்தாலும் த்ருப்தி என்பதே எற்படுவதில்லை. ஆடை ஆபரணங்களில் ஆசை உள்ளவர்களுக்கு எத்தனை ஆடை ஆபரணங்கள் வாங்கி குவித்தாலும் த்ருப்தி ஏற்படுவதில்லை. பணத்தில் ஆசை உள்ளவர்களுக்கு எவ்வளவு பணம் சேர்த்தாலும் த்ருப்தி என்பதே ஏற்படுவதில்லை. அறிவு பசி உள்ளவர்களுக்கு எத்தனை படித்தாலும் த்ருப்தி என்பதே ஏற்படுவதில்லை. ஆசையும், ஆர்வமும் உள்ளவனுக்கு ஏன் என்ற கேள்வியே எழாது. ஏன் எவ்வளவு படிக்க வேண்டும், ஏன் எவ்வளவு ஆடை ஆபரணங்கள் வாங்க வேண்டும், ஏன் இவ்வளவு பணம் சேர்க்க வேண்டும் என்ற கேள்வியே எழாது. ஆசையும், ஆர்வமும் இல்லாதவனுக்கு தான் இந்த வீணான கேள்விகள் வரும்.

அதுபோல தான், க்ருஷ்ண ப்ரேமையில் திளைக்கும் க்ருஷ்ண பக்தர்களுக்கு, ப்ருந்தாவனத்தில் எவ்வளவு கோயில்கள் வந்தாலும் போதும் என்ற எண்ணமே வருவதில்லை. அதன் விளைவு தான் இன்றைக்கு ப்ருந்தாவனத்தில் இவ்வளவு கோயில்களும், இவ்வளவு ஸம்ப்ரதாய ஸ்தாபனங்களின் ஆஷ்ரமங்களும் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. இன்றைய தேதியில், ப்ருந்தாவனத்தில் 5000 மேற்பட்ட கோயில்களும், ஆஷ்ரமங்களும் இருக்கின்றன.
நமது சத்சங்க அன்பர்கள் வந்தால், தங்கி பொறுமையாக இந்த ப்ருந்தாவனத்தை அனுபவிப்பதற்காக ஒரு இடம் 1995  வருஷம் வாங்கப்பட்டு, அதற்கு ஸ்ரீநிகேதன் என்று பெயரும் சூட்டப்பட்டது. மற்ற எவ்வளவோ கைங்கர்யங்கள் நடந்து முடிந்து விட்ட போதிலும், ப்ருந்தாவன கைங்கர்யம் மட்டும் ஆரம்பிக்காமல் இருந்து வந்தது. ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா, 2013 வருட ராஸ பூர்ணிமா அன்று ராதா ரமண ஸ்ரீ ப்ருந்தாவன விஹாரியை ஸ்தாபனம் செய்தார்.

முதலில், பாகவதர்களுக்கும் பக்தர்களுக்கும், கைங்கர்கம் செய்தால் தான் நாம் பகவானுக்கு கைங்கர்யம் செய்யக் கூடிய பாக்யத்தை பகவான் நமக்கு தருவான் என்பது ப்ரசித்தம். அதுபோலே, ஸ்வாமினியான ராதாதேவியின் ப்ரிய ஸகியான லலிதா தேவியின் மந்திரின் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அதை ப்ரியத்துடன் லலிதா ஸகி ஏற்றுக் கொண்டாள். அதனால் உத்தம ப்ரீதியை அடைந்தாள் ஸ்வாமினியான ராதா தேவி. அதன் விளைவு தான் ஸ்ரீநிகேதனத்தில் ஸாது ஸங்கத்திற்கான கட்டிட வேலைகள் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றது. அதன் Photo வை தான் நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது பார்க்கின்றீர்கள். நமது ஸங்கத்தை சேர்ந்த வ்ரஜதாஸ், யுவராஜ் உபாத்யாய் ப்ருந்தாவனத்திலேயே தங்கி கைங்கர்யம் செய்து வருகின்றாகள். பக்தர்களே! ப்ருந்தாவனம் வாருங்கள்!
ஸம்ஸார கவலைகளை மறந்து,
மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனம் செய்து,
க்ருஷ்ணா ப்ரேமையில் ஆடி பாடி திளைப்பீர்களாக!
