Sri Rama Navami Celebrations in New Zealand Namadwaar
By the grace of our beloved Guru Maharaj, New Zealand Namadwaar celebrated Rama Navami with a month-long activity. A Punarvasu Parayanam started with Vinayaka pooja and Kalasha Sthapana on the 9th of March 2025. For 27 days, the Parayanam of Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana was done every morning at 5:30 am with an average participation of 5 to 7 people. This reading session included singing Madhurageethams and compositions of other Saints in relevant and significant chapters. One notable occasion during the Parayanam session was day 9 of Parayanam when Shri Rama Paduka Pattabhishekam was read; on this occasion, Paduka Pooja was offered to Guruji’s Paduka.
Every evening of Parayanam entailed a session of Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lakshmi Ashttotram, Hanuman Chalisa and 20 minutes of Mahamantra Kirtan. On various days, after this chanting session, many people offered music to Bhagavan, including a Veena recital by Chi. Rushank Kurumala, Veena recital by Chi. Akarsh Shankar, a vocal offering by Dr Pratyusha Vikrant, a Madhurageetham offering by Chi. Yugesh Haribalan, and Dasavani by Smt. Dhanushree Purohit.

Shubhaprada Ravi, Dheeraj Venakatachalam, and Adhira Venkatachalam regularly offered bhajans and devotional singing.Shri Rama Pattabhishekam was celebrated grandly on Rama Navami. Holy waters from 8 rivers (7 from India and one from New Zealand) and the four oceans were brought in from across the globe for the Samrajya Pttabhshekam. Kalasha sthapana of Rama Kutumbam, Ashta Dikapalas, Navagrahas, Shri Mrityunjaya, the Saptarishis and all other Devathas were done. After that, a Samuhika Parayanam of the Pattabhishekam Sargam of Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana was done; about 40 devotees participated in this Samoohika Parayanam. A Kireetam (crown) was offered to Bhagavan during the Parayanam. After Parayanam, the Samrajya Abhishekam was performed to Shri Rama with all the river and ocean waters, while all the devotees showered flowers and puffed rice. There was mass chanting of Rama Taraka Mantra by all the devotees present. The Abhishekam was followed by a small Purappadu for Shri Rama with Bhajans. Shri Rama Pattabhishekam was made grand by 220 people participating in person and many more on Zoom.
