Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra at Namadwaar Virginia
“Anyone who has the darshan of Lord Jagannath during the Ratha Yatra, touches the rope to pull the chariot, or performs even a small seva will be abundantly blessed.” – Sri Swamiji
On the blissful morning of Saturday, June 14th, 2025, a beautifully adorned chariot stood ready at Twin Hickory Park, Glen Allen, Virginia, awaiting the arrival of Lord JagannathJi Parivaar. The festive spirit filled the air as devotees gathered with Nama flags and Jagannathji Parivaar banners, chanting the divine names with joy.
As Lord Jagannathji, Baladevji, and Subhadradevi arrived and were gracefully seated in the chariot, initial Pooja was performed amidst the resonant chants of Mahamantra. The park echoed with Nama Sankirtan, followed by soulful renditions of Guru Kirtans, Jagannatha Kirtan, and the Jagannatha Ashtakam.
Sri Swamiji and the Lord were showered with flower petals as the chariot procession commenced. The sight of children eagerly joining to pull the chariot rope brought delight to all. Throughout the Yatra, the Lord paused to listen to the devotees singing Namavalis, and the celebration continued with Prathakashanam, Kolattam, and Kummi.
For over an hour and a half, the atmosphere was filled with divine joy, blending devotion, tradition, and celebration. The Yatra culminated with the soul-stirring “Kaliyayum Balikollum” kirtan, managal Aarthi, and the offering of Chappan Bhog to the Lord.
Following the Yatra, Maha Prasadam was joyfully shared with over 100+ devotees, all of whom felt deeply connected to the Lord and our spiritual roots.
