Satsangs in Singapore by Dr Jananiji

7–14 August 2026

By Sri Swamiji’s kripa, Namadwaar Singapore had the opportunity to welcome Dr Janani ji from 7 to 14 August 2026. Though her visit was brief, the week was filled with satsang, learning, service and joyful moments of togetherness. Representing Sri Swamiji, Dr Janani ji conducted satsangs, addressed students and educators, engaged with the wider community and participated in several events alongside the Namadwaar Singapore family.

Her visit brought together people of different ages and backgrounds, creating opportunities not only to listen and learn, but also to reflect, connect and serve.

A Landmark Musical Celebration

One of the highlights of the week was the Shata Raga Ratna Maalika – 100-Raga Madhurageetham Marathon, organised on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Madhurageetham Music Contest.

Held on 8 August, the marathon featured 100 Madhurageethams set in 100 different ragas, performed continuously for 10 hours and 1 minute. This remarkable musical endeavour earned Namadwaar Singapore a prestigious title in the Singapore Book of Records: “Longest Performance of Musical Works from a Single Composer – HH Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji.”

The achievement was a memorable celebration of Sri Swamiji and Madhurageethams that left a lasting impact on the cultural fabric of Singapore.

An Evening of Vilakku Puja

On the evening of 7 August, Dr Janani ji attended Namadwaar Singapore’s first Vilakku Puja at Sri Sivan Temple. The event saw a warm turnout, with devotees and well-wishers coming together for the special occasion.

Brahmasri Janardhanan ji conducted the puja, followed by a talk on its significance and the story of Sri Lakshmi Devi emerging from the Samudra Manthan. The evening offered a beautiful blend of worship, storytelling and reflection.

Unfolding the Ramcharitmanas

From 10-12 August, a major focus of Dr Janani ji’s visit was her continuation of the Sri Ramcharitmanas satsangs that began during her previous visit to Singapore.

Having initially covered Ayodhya Kaand, she now took the audience through Aranya Kaand, Kishkinda Kaand and Sundara Kaand. Through her vivid narration and insightful explanations, listeners resonated deeply with the characters, situations and timeless teachings woven through Sri Ramcharitmanas.

Her ability to bring together storytelling, humour, reflection and spiritual insight made the sessions especially engaging.

Connecting with the Community

Dr Janani ji’s visit extended beyond satsangs, with several programmes focused on connecting with and contributing to the wider community.

A Visit to an Elderly Care Home

Namadwaar Singapore has regularly engaged with the residents of an elderly care home, with sessions often incorporating value-based stories, messages from Sri Swamiji and Nama chanting.

On 10 August, Dr Janani ji spent time interacting with the residents and addressing their questions on spirituality. Around 25 residents participated in the session, from diverse racial backgrounds. The questions reflected a wide range of perspectives and made for a thoughtful and interactive exchange. Dr Janani ji answered every question with great patience, wisdom and compassion.

Her openness and warmth created an atmosphere in which the residents could freely share their thoughts and experiences. One resident described the Q&A session as “amazing!” Dr. Janani ji also lovingly assisted in distributing cookies and refreshments to the residents. They were delighted by her kindness and personal attention and are looking forward to her next visit with great enthusiasm.

Inspiring Students Through Prayer and Reflection

As she frequently does during her interactions with students, Dr Janani ji conducted a student mass prayer, speaking on themes particularly relevant to young people, that same day. She elaborated on maintaining focus, setting meaningful goals, navigating burnout and learning to pace oneself.

She emphasised the importance of sincere effort while also recognising the role of divine grace in the journey towards success. The session concluded with 6-3-2 Mahamantra chanting, in which the students participated enthusiastically.

“Do More, Stress Less” at National Public School

Dr Janani ji addressed students at National Public School International with a motivational session titled “Do More, Stress Less” on 11 August, continuing the theme from her previous visit.

Nearly 260 IB Year 1 and Year 2 students attended the session. Through a practical and engaging discussion, she encouraged them to reflect on their goals, their approach to achievement and the pressures that can accompany the pursuit of success.

The session offered the students an opportunity to pause and introspect, while considering how they could approach their aspirations with greater clarity and balance.

A Leadership Session for Teachers

Dr Janani ji conducted a leadership session specially designed for teachers on 12 August at GIG International School.

The discussion explored how education and the learning environment have evolved over the decades, as well as the changing ways in which today’s generation connects with information and ideas. She spoke about the importance of students finding relevance and connection with their education, and the empathy required to understand the perspectives of students.

At the same time, she acknowledged the challenges faced by teachers and the effort involved in guiding young people. The session became an open and meaningful exchange, with many teachers relating closely to the points she raised. It was an opportunity for them to feel heard and appreciated, while also reflecting on new approaches to teaching and connecting with students. It was a particularly warm, heartfelt and interactive session.

“Reality Retreat” at Sian Chay Charity Centre

Another meaningful community programme was “Reality Retreat”, conducted on 13 August by Dr Janani ji at the Sian Chay Charity Centre, an activity hub frequented by senior members of the community.

The session began with an introductory talk, followed by gentle stretches, deep breathing, Bhramari Ugeeth and Aum chanting to help participants settle into the session.

Dr Janani ji then explored the nature of the wavering mind and the importance of reducing the constant stream of thoughts in order to develop greater inner steadiness. The session was highly interactive, with participants actively sharing their thoughts and raising questions.

She subsequently introduced the 6-3-2 Mahamantra technique and guided the participants through it. The practice was accompanied with keyboard chords, creating a calm and meditative atmosphere.

Namadwaar Singapore Family Bonding

Alongside her public engagements, Dr Janani ji’s visit also created many opportunities for the Namadwaar Singapore family to come together.

A family retreat filled with camaraderie

The Namadwaar family gathered for an evening of games, laughter and fun. Dr Janani ji conducted impromptu quizzes on Sri Swamiji’s establishments and Namadwaar’s activities across the world, with the youth and adults dividing into teams and enthusiastically taking part.

The evening also featured a lively round of Madhurageetham Antakshari. Beyond the friendly competition, the gathering provided an opportunity for everyone to relax, interact and enjoy one another’s company. It was a simple evening, but one that strengthened the bonds among those who serve together in Guru Kainkaryam.

NDSG Youth Meet

The youth team also had an opportunity to interact with Dr Janani ji through a meeting.

An overview of the various activities that the team has undertaken and participated in was presented. This was followed by an engaging brainstorming and discussion session led by Dr Janani ji, exploring new avenues through which the youth could contribute actively to seva.

The session encouraged the youth to look beyond existing activities and consider how their individual talents, ideas and interests could be channelled meaningfully into service.

A Warm Vidaiyatri

As the week came to a close, the Namadwaar Singapore family gathered for a Vidaiyatri to bid farewell to Dr Janani ji.

Her visit had brought with it a rich mix of satsang, music, learning, community engagement and bonding. From the depths of Sri Ramcharitmanas to conversations with students and teachers, from community programmes to moments of laughter with the Namadwaar family, each engagement left its own impression in our hearts.

As we thanked Dr Janani ji for her time, guidance and affection, we were left with renewed inspiration to continue our efforts in Guru Kainkaryam with greater enthusiasm and sincerity.

Though her stay in Singapore lasted only a week, the memories, insights and inspiration from her visit will continue to remain with the Namadwaar Singapore family for a long time to come.
