Legend behind Thiruvadirai 🌟

Colloquially known as Arudra Darisanam, the festival is an old one, being mentioned in the Tevaram. On the Thiruvadirai day in Margazhi, Lord Natraja comes out in procession to give darshan to His devotees. In Sanskrit ‘Arthirai’ is called ‘Ardhra’ and the Thiruvadirai anointing ceremony is called Ardhra Abisheka and the Thiruvadirai viewing as Ardhra Darshan. It is held as a divine blessing to witness Lord Nataraja’s purappAdu in Chidambaram! 🔥🦌

Meaning:
A flower that had fallen into garbage, has now adorned a divine Gopuram! Carried by the great wind of the Guru’s grace, this is unbelievable yet entirely true. Some may say this is the result of accumulated merits (punya); some may say it is the fruit of penance; others may say it is the play of destiny. But it is indeed only the Guru’s grace that is the true reason, nothing else!

Dear Rasikas,

A heartfelt thank you, for the overwhelming response for Week 1 of Rise of Margazhi! The stats on Youtube stand as an amazing testimonial for how much folks are enjoying the diverse offerings in this series!
