Renovation of the Ancient Sri Radharani Mandir at Barsana

The sacred renovation service of the ancient Sri Radharani Mandir at Barsana has been successfully completed and dedicated under the name “Sri Krishna Prema Mayi Radha Rasoi.”

Just as Bhagavan Sri Krishna incarnated in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Sri Radharani manifested at Barsana, situated about 50 kilometres from Vrindavan, upon the hill known as Brahmanchal Parvat. This hill is revered by devotees as the divine abode and residence of Sri Radharani. A temple dedicated exclusively to Sri Radharani stands here in all its glory.

The boundless love, devotion, and deep attachment that Mahatma Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna), the revered Guru of our beloved Guru Maharaj, cherished towards Sri Radharani are truly unique.

Sri Sri Anna has bestowed numerous works glorifying Sri Radharani, including Sri Radhika Shatakam, Sri Radha Madhava Shatakam, Sri Radhika Vilasa Champu Kavyam, Sri Yugala Shatakam, and many kirtans and slokas contained in Laghu Stotramala.

For many years, our Guru Maharaj has cherished an unfulfilled desire that the sacred works composed by his Guru, Mahatma Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swamigal, should be engraved on stone inscriptions and permanently installed in various holy kshetras.

Accordingly, the first such undertaking was carried out at the Sri Bodhendra Swamigal Mutt in Govindapuram, where all the kirtans composed by Sri Sri Anna on Sri Bodhendral, along with the slokas composed on Sri Hanuman, were engraved on stone and permanently installed.

Similarly, Divya Desa Vaibhavam and Sri Kirtanavali kirtans composed by Sri Sri Anna on the Thirunangur Divya Desams were engraved on stone inscriptions and installed in those sacred shrines. Similar installations were also carried out at the Sri Pandava Dhootha Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram.

Further, a property was acquired on Sannadhi Street near the Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram, where a building was constructed and named “Kirtanavali Mandapam.” All the kirtans of Kirtanavali were engraved on stone inscriptions and permanently installed there.

Thereafter, at the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple in Senganur, stone inscriptions containing the kirtans composed by Sri Sri Anna on Sri Srinivasa Perumal, as well as portions from Ramakathamritam, Bhagavata Kathamritam, and other sacred works, were installed. At the Sri Sakthigireeswara Temple in Senganur, stone inscriptions containing kirtans on Lord Siva were installed. Likewise, at the Sri Panduranga Temple in Senganur, stone inscriptions containing kirtans and slokas composed by Sri Sri Anna on Sri Panduranga were established.

Subsequently, in November 2021, our Guru Maharaj instructed that the works and kirtans composed by Sri Sri Anna on Sri Radha and Sri Krishna should also be engraved on stone inscriptions and installed in Vrindavan and Barsana. Accordingly, consultations were held with the principal authorities of the Barsana and Ashta Sakhi temples. Their response was immediate and wholehearted: “If Maharanyam Sri Muralidhara Swamiji of Chennai requests it, we gladly grant our permission and consent exactly as desired.”

As the first phase of this endeavour, through our Jaya Hanuman Seva Trust, the works Sri Radhika Shatakam, Sri Radha Madhava Shatakam, and Sri Radhika Vilasa Champu Kavyam were engraved on stone inscriptions and installed at the Sri Lalita Sakhi Temple in Uchagaon, near Barsana. This work was completed in September 2022. In addition, the entire temple underwent renovation and restoration, and was dedicated in September 2023.

The Sri Radharani Mandir that devotees worship at Barsana today was constructed approximately two hundred years ago. Prior to this, the ancient temple in which Sri Radharani had resided was established nearly six hundred and fifty years ago. Due to limitations of space and the effects of time, the ancient structure had become severely dilapidated. Consequently, the present temple was constructed nearby around two centuries ago, where Sri Radharani now graciously bestows Her divine darshan upon devotees. The ancient temple, however, remained unused and in a state of deterioration for many centuries.

During this period, permission was obtained to install stone inscriptions containing the slokas and kirtans on Sri Radha from Laghu Stotramala, composed by Sri Sri Anna, within the precincts of the Barsana Sri Radharani Temple. The work was completed and formally dedicated by our Guru Maharaj during his satsang at the Sri Radharani Sannidhi in Barsana in November 2022.

At that time, a divine instruction was received from Sri Radharani that the ancient temple structure within Her temple complex should be renovated and transformed into a large temple kitchen and a spacious hall where sadhus could be served meals and partake in sadhu bhojanam.

At the same time, another divine instruction was received from Sri Radharani that new silver moorthis of Her eight beloved companions, the Ashta Sakhis, who are most dear to both Her and Bhagavan Sri Krishna, should be crafted and consecrated according to the long-standing tradition of the temple.

As the first phase of this instruction, silver moorthis of the Ashta Sakhis were created. Their pedestals were engraved with the slokas and kirtans composed by Sri Sri Anna in praise of the Ashta Sakhis. These were dedicated on 2 February 2025, on the auspicious day of Vasantha Panchami.

Following this, the restoration of Sri Radharani’s ancient temple commenced in December 2024, marking the first major renovation after 364 years. Along with extensive structural stabilisation works, a spacious first floor was added to the ancient temple, and all renovation works were successfully completed. The renovated structure was named “Sri Krishna Prema Mayi Radha Rasoi” and was ceremoniously dedicated on 18 June 2026.

The entire project was executed beautifully under the dedicated efforts and careful supervision of Sri Venkatesan, a devoted disciple of Sri Swamiji from our Ashram.

The tireless hard work and coordination of our Ashram devotee, Vrindavan Sri Vrajadas, were also instrumental to the successful completion of this sacred service.

This noble undertaking was further made possible through the wholehearted participation and support of exemplary devotees – Sri Narayanan of Mayavaram Timber Depot, and the Sri Jagannathan and Smt Vidya of Singapore, who immersed themselves completely in this ancient temple renovation service and ensured its successful completion with great devotion and dedication.

 

பர்ஸானா ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி புராதன மந்திர் திருப்பணி

பர்ஸானா ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி புராதன மந்திர் திருப்பணிக் கைங்கர்யம் பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டு, ‘ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணப்ரேம மையி ராதா ரசோய்’ என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டு கைங்கர்யம் நிறைவு பெற்ற வைபவம்.

பகவான் ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணர், உத்தரப்பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள மதுராவில் அவதாரம் செய்தது போல, விருந்தாவனத்தில் இருந்து 50 km தூரத்தில் உள்ள பர்ஸானாவில் – பிரம்மஞ்சல் பர்வதம் என்ற மலையில்  ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி அவதாரம் செய்தார். இந்த மலை ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் இருப்பிடமாக மற்றும் வாசஸ்தலமாக பக்தர்களால் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றது. ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணிக்கு என்றே இங்கு பிரத்யேகமாக ஒரு மந்திர் உள்ளது.

நம் குருநாதரின் குருவான மஹாத்மா ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணப்ரேமி ஸ்வாமிகள் (ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா) அவர்களுக்கும் ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியிடம் இருக்கும் அளவற்ற ஈடுபாடும், ப்ரேமையும் மற்றும் பக்தியையும் தனித்துத்துவமானவை.

ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அவர்கள், ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி மீது, ஸ்ரீ ராதிகா சதகம், ஸ்ரீ ராதா மாதவ சதகம், ஸ்ரீ ராதிகா விலாசம் சம்பூ காவியம், ஸ்ரீ யுகள சதகம் மற்றும் லகுஸ்தோத்ரமாலாவில் அநேக கீர்த்தனங்கள், ஸ்லோகங்களை அருளி செய்துள்ளார்கள். நம் குருநாதரும் ஸ்ரீ ராதையின் மீது 100 கீர்த்தனங்களை (Sri Radha 100) அருளி செய்துள்ளார்.

நம் குருநாதருக்கு தன்னுடைய குருநாதரான மஹாத்மா ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணப்ரேமி ஸ்வாமிகள் அவர்கள் அருளிய க்ரந்தங்களை கல்வெட்டுகளில் வடித்து ஒவ்வொரு க்ஷேத்திரத்திலும் நிரந்தரமாக பதித்து வைக்க வேண்டும் என்பது வெகுநாட்களாக உள்ள தீராத ஆசை.

1. அதையொட்டி முதன்முதலில் கோவிந்தபுரம் ஸ்ரீ போதேந்த்ராள் மடத்தில் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா, ஸ்ரீ போதேந்த்ராள் விஷயமாக அருளிய அனைத்து கீர்த்தனங்களையும் ஸ்ரீ அனுமான் விஷயமாக அருளிய ஸ்லோகங்களையும் கல்வெட்டுகளாக வடித்து நிரந்தரமாக வைத்தார்கள்.
2. திருநாங்கூர் திவ்ய தேசங்களை பற்றி ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய திவ்யதேச வைபவம், ஸ்ரீ கீர்த்தனாவளி கீர்த்தனங்களை கல்வெட்டுகளில் வடித்து அத்திவ்யதேசங்களில் அமைத்துள்ளார். காஞ்சிபுரம் ஸ்ரீ பாண்டவதூத பெருமாள் திருக்கோயிலிலும் இவ்வாறு அமைத்துள்ளார்.
3. காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் ஸ்ரீ வரதராஜ பெருமாள் திருக்கோயில் சன்னதி தெருவில் ஒரு இடம் வாங்கி, அதில் ஒரு கட்டிடம் கட்டி அதற்கு ‘கீர்த்தனாவளி மண்டபம்’ என்று பெயரிட்டு, அதில் கீர்த்தனாவளி கீர்த்தனங்கள் அனைத்தையும் கல்வெட்டுகளில் வடித்து நிரந்தரமாக பெறுத்தியுள்ளார்.
4. அதை தொடர்ந்து சேங்கனூர் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீநிவாஸ பெருமாள் கோயிலில் ஸ்ரீநிவாஸ பெருமாள் விஷயமாக ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய கீர்த்தனங்கள், ராமகதாம்பிருதம், பாகவத கதாம்பிருதம் முதலிய க்ரந்தங்களின் கல்வெட்டுகளைப் பதித்துள்ளார். மேலும், சேங்கனூர் ஸ்ரீ சக்திகீரீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயிலில் ஸ்ரீ சிவபெருமான் விஷயமாக கீர்த்தனங்கள் கல்வெட்டுகள் பதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. சேங்கனூர் ஸ்ரீ பாண்டுரங்கன் கோயிலில் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய ஸ்ரீ பாண்டுரங்கன் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட கீர்த்தனங்கள் மற்றும் ஸ்லோகங்களின் கல்வெட்டுகள் பதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
5. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து, விருந்தாவனத்திலும், பர்ஸானாவிலும் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய ஸ்ரீ ராதை, ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணர் பற்றிய க்ரந்தங்கள், கீர்த்தனங்களைக் கல்வெட்டுகளாகப் பதிக்க வேண்டும் என்று 2021 நவம்பரில் நம் குருநாதரிடம் இருந்து உத்தரவு கிடைத்தது. உடனடியாக பர்சானா மற்றும் அஷ்ட ஸகிகள் கோயில்களுக்குச் சென்று அந்தந்தக் கோயிலின் முக்கிய அதிகாரிகளிடம் கலந்தாலோசித்தபோது, அதற்கு அந்த அதிகாரிகள், ‘சென்னை மஹாரண்யம் ஸ்ரீ முரளீதர ஸ்வாமிஜி கேட்கிறார் என்றால் அதை அப்படியே செய்ய அனுமதியும் சம்மதத்தையும் தருகிறோம்’ என்றார்கள்.
6. முதலில் பர்சானா அருகே உச்சாகாவுனில் நமது ஜெய ஹனுமான் சேவா டிரஸ்ட் மூலம் ஸ்ரீ லலிதாஸகி கோயிலில் ஸ்ரீ ராதிகா ஸதகம், ஸ்ரீ ராதா மாதவ ஸதகம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ ராதிகா விலாச சம்பூ காவியம் கல்வெட்டுகளாக வடித்து பதிக்கும் பணி 2022 செப்டம்பரில் பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டது., மேலும் முழுக் கோயிலும் புனருத்தாரணக் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யப்பட்டு  2023 செப்டம்பரில் சமர்ப்பணம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

பர்சானாவில் இன்று நாம் ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியைத் தரிசனம் செய்யும் மந்திர் சுமார் 200 வருடங்களுக்கு முன் நிர்மாணம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அதற்கு முன்பு, ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி வாசம் செய்த புராதனமான மந்திர் சுமார் 650 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு அமைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த புராதனமான மந்திர் போதிய இடவசதி இல்லாத சூழலாலும், காலதேச வர்த்தமானத்தாலும் மிகவும் பழுதடைந்து இருந்ததால், அதற்கு அருகே சுமார் 200 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு இன்று நாம் காணும் மந்திர் புதிதாக நிர்மாணம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அதில் ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி எழுந்தருளி நமக்கு திவ்ய காட்சி தருகிறார். ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் புராதன மந்திர் பல நூற்றாண்டுகளாகப் பழுதடைந்து உபயோகமற்ற நிலையில் இருந்து வந்தது.

இந்நிலையில் பர்ஸானா ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி கோயில் வளாகத்தில் ஒர் இடத்தில். ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய ஸ்ரீ ராதை பற்றிய லகுஸ்தோத்திரமாலா ஸ்லோகங்கள் மற்றும் கீர்த்தனங்களைக் கல்வெட்டுகளில் பதிக்க அனுமதி பெறப்பட்டு, அப்பணிகள் பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டு, பர்ஸானா ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி சன்னதியில் 2022 நவம்பரில் நடைபெற்ற, நம் குருநாதரின் ஸத்சங்கத்தின்போது, நம் குருநாதரால் சமர்ப்பணம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அச்சமயத்தில் தனது கோயில் வளாகத்தில் உள்ள தனது புராதன மந்திரின் கட்டிடத்தை திருப்பணி செய்து, அதை தனது மந்திரின் பெரிய சமையலறையாகவும் (மடப்பள்ளி) சாதுக்கள் உணவருந்தும் (சாது போஜனம் செய்யும்) பெரிய கூடமாகவும் (ஹால்) அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் உத்தரவு கிடைத்து.

அதேசமயம் தனது சன்னதியில் தனக்கும், பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணருக்கும் மிகவும் பிடித்த தனது தோழிகள் 8 பேருக்கும் (அஷ்ட ஸகிகள்)  கோயிலில் ஏற்கனவே இருக்கும் வழக்கப்படி வெள்ளியில் புதிதாக மூர்த்திகள் செய்து ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் மற்றொரு உத்தரவும் கிடைத்தது.

முதற்கட்டமாக வெள்ளியில் அஷ்ட ஸகிகள் – முர்த்திகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டு, அவற்றின் பீடத்தில் அஷ்டஸகிகளின் விஷயமாக ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அருளிய ஸ்லோகங்களும் கீர்த்தனங்களும் வடிக்கப்பட்டு, 2025 பிப்ரவரி 2ம் தேதி வஸந்த பஞ்ஜமி அன்று சமர்ப்பணம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் புராதன மந்திர் புனருத்தாரணப் பணிகள் (364 வருடங்களுக்கு பிறகு புனருத்தாரணப் பணிகள்) டிசம்பர் மாதம் 2024 துவங்கப்பட்டன. கட்டிடத்தை முற்றிலும் ஸ்திரபடுத்தும் பணிகளுடன், புராதன மந்திரில் விஸ்தாரமான முதல் தளமும் அமைக்கப்பட்டு, பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டன.  அதற்கு “ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணப்ரேம மையி ராதா ரசோய்” என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டு கடந்த ஜூன் மாதம் 18ம் தேதி சமர்ப்பணம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

மொத்த கைங்கர்யமும், நமது ஆஸ்ரமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த, ஸ்ரீ ஸ்வாமிஜியின் அடியார் ஸ்ரீ வெங்கடேசன் அவர்களின் சீரிய முயற்சி மற்றும் கண்காணிப்பில் அருமையாக நடந்துள்ளது.

நமது ஆஸ்ரம அடியார், வ்ருந்தாவன் ஸ்ரீ வ்ரஜதாஸ் அவர்களின் கடின உழைப்பும் ஒருங்கிணைப்பும் இந்த கைங்கர்யத்திற்கு மிக முக்கியமானவை.

இந்த அரும்பணியை, மிகச் சிறந்த பக்தர்களான மாயவரம் டிம்பர் டிப்போ ஸ்ரீ நாராயணன் மற்றும் சிங்கப்பூர் ஸ்ரீ வித்யா – ஸ்ரீ ஜகன்நாதன் தம்பதியினர், இந்த புராதன மந்திர் கைங்கர்யத்தில் தன்னை முழுமையாக ஈடுபடுத்திக் கொண்டு சிறப்பாக பூர்த்தி செய்து கொடுத்துள்ளார்.
