Puranava Quiz at NPS International (NPSI) School Singapore

Joy of Sharing organized the Puranava Quiz at NPS International School, Secondary campus at 25 Scotts Road, Singapore. This quiz on Indian Culture and Heritage attracted enthusiastic participation with over 100 registrants, including students of both Indian and international backgrounds. It offered an opportunity for students, predominantly acquainted with world history, to explore Indian culture, architecture, cultural arts, literature, and cuisine. A preliminary screening test was conducted on April 24, 2025, to select the finalists.

Dr. Janani Vasudevan conducted the finals on April 28, 2025, at the NPSI campus, which included two student categories: Grades 7 & 8, and Grades 9 & 10, each comprising six teams. Dr. Kris Bhatt, Principal of NPSI, commenced the finals by introducing Dr. Janani and underscoring the importance of understanding India’s rich cultural heritage. The two-hour quiz featured innovative team strategies, with some finalists creating teams of students from different Indian states to leverage their diverse knowledge. To add local context, the quiz included a special round on Singapore’s history and culture.

The event was received with great enthusiasm, not only from the finalists but also from the audience, who were engaged with questions, and rewards for correct answers. The finals concluded with an award ceremony, where trophies and certificates were presented to the top three teams in each category. Consolation prizes and certificates were distributed to the remaining teams.

The Puranava Quiz, a first-of-its-kind event for the school, was warmly received by students, teachers, and the principal. In addition to making the Puranava Quiz an annual event, the school is contemplating the introduction of an extracurricular activity focused on Indian Culture and Heritage.

Radhe Radhe. Anantha Koti Namaskarams to Guruji Maharaj’s Lotus Feet on the “boon-bestowing Guru Vaaram day” [Thursday]. Battle of Cerebral Skills surfaced eye-catchingly in the “Eternally Enchanting Edition” of Puranava Quiz at NPSI School, Singapore, ever so enthrallingly. The very utterance of “Joy of Sharing” triggers Fathomless Glee, definitely! This finely threaded ‘Array of Satsang’ in the turf of Singapore is classy, unquestionably. The Inimitable Vim and Spectacular Verve with which more than 100 registrants threw their hats in the ring is a stunning evidence of the delicacy with which the program has been strewn and shown – inspiring not only the astute students but also the ‘ever-shrewd’ teaching fraternity, as a whole. That ‘Puranava’ is a Divine Intrinsic Blend of the Past and an Intricate Spot on the Present is eulogized in this awesome forum too – the masterstroke is the sugary revelation that the School is weighing the option of Extracurricular Activity, the cynosure being on India’s Cultural and Heritage history. Inclusion of Quiz encompassing Singapore’s History and Culture speaks eloquence about ‘Inclusivity’ that would evoke Matchless Appeal in the minds of the participants, certainly! Grateful to Glorious, Global, Guruji!
