Madhurageetham Contest 2023 – Singapore

By the immense grace of our Guru Maharaj, Madhurageetham Music Contest was held in Singapore at SIFAS (Singapore Indian Fine Arts) on April 15th. The program was a huge success. Launched 7 years ago in 2017, the success of the event in 2023 was even sweeter as the contest was held at a public venue after conducting it online for 3 years owing to the pandemic.

The event was very well received by the music fraternity and had a positive response from the public. Over 200 people attended the program, and around 160 people attended at peak.

The contest was carried out in various Solo and Group categories, with huge participation in each category. The soulful singing of the Open and Seniors categories and the well-coordinated singing of all group categories enthralled the audience. The icing on the cake and show stopper was the cute congregational singing of Budding Starts category aged 6–8-year-old children. As instructed by Sri Guruji there was one local music connoisseur and two representatives from Namadwaar as judges. Prizes were distributed in all categories and music teachers were felicitated.

The parents, participants and music teachers were thrilled, and everyone enjoyed the musical evening, with positive feedbacks and many wanting to learn the divine compositions and know more about Namadwaar, with one of the feedbacks being “Madhurageethams are truly madhuram”.

The weather was scorching hot and humid throughout the day, and everyone could feel the heat. However, at one point while the Mahamantra was being chanted during the program, there was a heavy downpour of rain, and the presence and blessings of Guru Maharaj were felt.

As always, the Madhurageetham Music Contest excelled as a flagship public event of Namdwaar Singapore, inching forward in its mission to reach out the divine compositions to a wider and larger audience.
