Lippan Art and Magnet Workshop at Singapore
The Lippan Art & Magnet Workshop, conducted by a member of NDSG Youth Group, on 21st March 2026, was a vibrant and engaging 3-hour afternoon session that brought together young participants for a hands-on experience of this beautiful traditional art form. The workshop saw the enthusiastic participation of around 13 children, with some parents also joining in with equal excitement, adding to the warmth and energy of the session.
Lippan art, known for its intricate mirror work and earthy textures, offered participants an opportunity to explore their creativity while connecting with a rich cultural heritage. The session began with a brief introduction to the origins and significance of the art form, followed by a guided, step-by-step process where participants created their own unique pieces.
In addition to Lippan art, participants also enjoyed a creative segment where they moulded clay using their imagination to make colourful clay magnets. From doughnuts and birds to cars and other imaginative designs, each creation reflected the individuality and creativity of the participants.
The atmosphere was filled with curiosity and joy, as participants experimented with patterns, textures, and colours. Each artwork reflected a personal touch, making the experience both expressive and fulfilling. Overall, the workshop was a wonderful success, leaving everyone with not only their handcrafted creations but also a memorable and enriching experience.
