Janmashtami Celebrations – G.O.D Australia Sydney Namadwaar
By the boundless Grace of Guru Maharaj, GOD Australia’s Namadwaar Sydney celebrated the Janmashtami Utsav in a grand manner over 10 days from 4th Sep 2026 – 13th Sep 2026 at Bundilla Scout Camp. Several devotees participated travelling from far & wide on all days & received the abundant blessings of our Lordships Sri Madhuri Sakhi Sametha Sri Premika Varadhan.
Key Highlights of the 10 day Janmashtami 2026 Utsav at Sydney:
NANDOTSAV – The festivities of Janmashtami commenced on the 4th Sep 2026 with Abhishekam to Utsava Murthys with Mahamantra kirtan, Parayanam of Srimad Bhagavatham Krishna Jananam chapters,.
VANA BHOJAN – On the morning of the 2nd day, the Gopa kuteeram team brought all children together to play with little krishna during Vana Bhojanam. The program started with children singing bhajans and carrying Bagavan in procession.
DIVYA NAMA – On the evening of the 2nd Day, 100s of devotees gathered together for Divya Nama Sankirtan led by Sri Prashant Ramakrishnan. Several bhajans were sung by various devotees & bakthas joyfully danced to various tunes for nearly 2 hours.
GOVARDHAN PUJA – Day 3 commenced with discourse on Govardhan Lila by Sri Deepak Vinod, followed by Parayanam of Govinda Pattabhishekam chapters in Srimad Bhagavatham, Kirtans, Govinda Nama and procession of the Lordships in Kamadhenu Vahanam.
PROCESSION – From Day 3 until Day 7, on all evenings procession of the Lordships was done on several Vahanams (Simha, Garuda, Gaja, Ashwa, Sesha) as bakthas gathered together to sing various madhurageethams, bhajans and namavalis for almost 1 hour every day. Gopa Kuteeram children led the Gaja vahanam procession by singing for the entire procession on that particular day.
SRIMAD BHAGAVATHA PARAYANAM – From Day 4 – Day 8, on all mornings, Srimad Bhagavatha Parayanam of Dasama Skandham along with discourse on Bala Lilas of Lord Sri Krishna through the divine hyms of Periya Azhwar was conducted by Sri Sathyaji.
NIKUNJOTSAV – On Day 8 evening, Nikunjotsav with Veena Concert by Smt Shanthi Ramesh was conducted, where the Lordships were seated in a beautifully decorated swing, placed amidst mirror walls with lamps lit in front of them that enhanced the beauty of the evening.
ASHTAPADHI BHAJANS – On Day 9 morning, Ashtapadhis 1 – 21 was offered by various groups of music students & teachers. Nearly 50 young and upcoming artists took part in this event and learnt to sing many ashtapadhis for the first time.
JANAVAS – On the evening of Day 9, Sri Nagaraj Iyer & Sri Krishna along with a team of 4 young percussion artists gave a mesmerising Violin & Flute concert. The percussions include Mrdangam, Ghatam, Ganjira, Morsing. Baarat ceremony was conducted
RADHA KALYANAM – On the 10th Day, a grand and divine Radha Kalyana Mahotsav was conducted by Bhagavathars led by Sri Prashant Ramakrishnan. 100s of bakthas gathered together to witness the divine marriage. Sri Prashant ji explained the meaning behind several rituals & bhajans which inspired devotees to participate in the bhajans as well.
ANJANEYA UTSAV/VIDAYATRI – This marked the concluding event of the grand 10 day Utsav where young children sang Bhajans while abhishekam was performed to the Lordships. Puja was performed to Anjaneya Swamy. Chairman of the Board, Sri Raj Gopalan ji & Namadwaar Priest Sri Sathya ji gave a concluding speech to recognise the efforts of various devotees & members of the community who made this event possible.
Overall, by the boundless Grace of Guru Maharaj, the utsavam was well attended by several new families who eagerly participated on all days. Devotees of all age groups joined along in the grand celebrations. Varieties of Maha Prasad was served to all devotees on all days.
