Food Aid for Students Impacted by Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton, one of the most powerful hurricanes to strike the Florida peninsula, caused significant destruction, including tornadoes, loss of life, and over $30 million in damages.
In response to this devastating event, LTSFA Tampa organized a food relief activity on October 12 and 13, 2024, to support students affected by Hurricane Milton. Approximately 40 dedicated volunteers collaborated to prepare and distribute meals to students in need at the University of South Florida. Additionally, essential supplies such as water, paper towels, and toilet paper were collected and distributed to the students. This compassionate effort provided assistance to approximately 300 students who were facing limited access to basic necessities and were stranded in residential communities due to flooding.
