*Somu ๐Ÿฆœ sez*โ€ฆ. These young, rising musicians growing up in other parts of the world, outside India have so much to offer to our culture – be it through Indian classical music, dance, bhakti or through other traditional art forms. A big chunk of our sampradayam lies in their hands and the responsibility to carry this baton forward, rests on their shoulders. From their renditions today, you will see how they have upheld it so wonderfully! A heavenly Hindolam and a sublime Saranga from these young adults are sure to add a little chirp to your beautiful day!

Legend behind Thiruvadirai ๐ŸŒŸ

Colloquially known as Arudra Darisanam, the festival is an old one, being mentioned in the Tevaram. On the Thiruvadirai day in Margazhi, Lord Natraja comes out in procession to give darshan to His devotees. In Sanskrit โ€˜Arthiraiโ€™ is called โ€˜Ardhraโ€™ and the Thiruvadirai anointing ceremony is called Ardhra Abisheka and the Thiruvadirai viewing as Ardhra Darshan. It is held as a divine blessing to witness Lord Nataraja’s purappAdu in Chidambaram! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸฆŒ
