Janmashtami Celebrations – GOD Canada
Srimad Bhagavatha Saptaham (9–16 August)
As part of the Janmashtami Celebrations, the GOD Canada Ontario Satsang families came together in devotion to recite the 18,000 slokas of Srimath Bhagavatham over seven spiritually enriching days via Zoom. More than 50 devotees participated daily, taking turns to read and reflect on the sacred verses, creating a vibrant and continuous stream of divine energy.
Yuva Bhagavatha Utsav (8–10 August)
To commemorate Janmashtami, the Yuva Bhagavatha Utsav was organised by the Ontario Satsang youth team, featuring over 70 young Bhagavathas (ages 6–25) who recited the 10th Canto of Srimath Bhagavatam across three days on Zoom. The event showcased the dedication and coordination of the youth, culminating in a special address by Sri Ramuji, senior disciple of Sri Swamiji, who spoke on the importance of embracing Bhagavatha Dharma from an early age.
Owing to overwhelming enthusiasm, the youth team is now preparing for the Sri Sundara Kanda Yuva Utsav, scheduled for Navaratri in late September 2025.
Janmashtami Celebrations (16 August)
The auspicious day began with fervent Mahamantra chanting by over 50 devotees gathered in Brampton. This was followed by the reading of the first three chapters of Krishna Jananam and Katha Shravanam. The celebration reached a joyful culmination with the devotees chanting “Gopal Gopal” and playfully splashing butter and milk, recreating the divine childhood pastimes of Lord Krishna.
Nandotsav (22 August)
Nandotsav festivities commenced with Mahamantra chanting and the singing of Madhurageethams celebrating Krishna’s birth. An outdoor satsang followed, where devotees engaged in traditional games such as Uriyadi, tug of war, and other playful activities reminiscent of Krishna’s Bala Leelas, all while singing Bala Leela Kirtans from Madhura Gitam.
Radha Kalyanam (23 August)
The Grand Janmashtami Utsav concluded in a spirit of divine celebration, marked by the sacred union of Radha and Krishna. Devotees immersed themselves in the soulful rendition of Ashtapathi Bhajans and Divya Nama Kirtans, culminating in a blissful atmosphere. The festivities were followed by a sumptuous lunch prasad, bringing the event to a joyous close.

Radhe Radhe. Salutations, with utmost humility, to the Lotus Feet of our Revered Guruji! Succinctly stated, Janmashtami Celebrations by GOD Canada are “Exultant”! The Zealous Atmosphere, Warmth, Affection for Lord Krishna and Guruji Maharaj are delectably woven as can be evidenced by the bevy of Satsangs that blossomed during Janmashtami – Srimad Bagavatha Saptaham, Yuva Bhagavatha Utsav, Nandotsav, Radha Kalyanam, et al! The bonhomie, conviviality and camaraderie permeating throughout the Satsangs [as can be witnessed in the Glittering Photos] is the highpoint indeed! The Write-up, thoughtfully presented, mirrors cerebral supremacy, where aesthetics and artistry are sutured, exquisitely! That the Vibrant Youth Team is galvanizing to paint the “Sri Sundara Kanda Yuva Utsav”, synchronizing with Navaratri, is like a whiff of fresh air, irrefutably! Infinite Gratitude to Guruji Maharaj for “Binding the Spiritual Pearls”, with ‘Unmatched Elegance’ and coating it with that ‘Elusive Permanence!’
