Consecration of the Archa Vigrahas at Jagannath Puri

On 14 June 2026, the sacred Archa Vigrahas (worshipful deity forms) of Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Saraswati Swamigal, Mahatma Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna), and Srimati Manni were ceremoniously consecrated at Jagannath Puri.
Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Saraswati Swamigal had once demonstrated the glory and power of the Divine Name on the banks of the sacred Swetaganga tank in Jagannath Puri. It was in remembrance of this glorious event that our revered Guru Maharaj established Chaitanya Kuteeram at Govindapuram, where Sri Bodhendra Swamigal eternally resides in Jiva Samadhi.

Jagannath Puri is also the holy place where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu spent nearly twelve years in the Gambhira Guha, absorbed in the ecstatic love of Sri Radha-Krishna, oblivious to worldly consciousness. It is home to many sacred sites associated with the Mahamantra, which was the very life-breath of our Guru Maharaj: the Samadhi of Namacharya Sri Haridas Thakur; the revered Siddha Bakula tree beneath which he chanted three lakh Divine Names daily; and the residence of Vasudeva Sarvabhauma. For this reason, Sri Puri Kshetra, the divine abode of Lord Jagannath, has always held a special place in the hearts of Sri Sri Anna and our Guru Maharaj, HH Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji.

Among all the sacred places in Puri, Siddha Bakula Math, where Namacharya Sri Haridas Thakur performed his daily chanting of three lakh Names, is particularly dear to our Sri Guruji. Whenever he stays in Jagannath Puri, he traditionally resides there and spends long hours immersed in Mahamantra japa.

The first Archa Vigraha of Mahatma Sri Sri Krishnapremi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna), the Guru of our Guru Maharaj, was consecrated in 2015 at Sri Premika Janmasthanam in Senganur as his “Thaan Ugandha Thirumeni” (the form personally cherished by him) on the auspicious occasion of Sri Premika Jayanthi. Thereafter, our Guru Maharaj consecrated the Archa Vigrahas of Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Saraswati Swamigal and Sri Sri Anna at several sacred locations, including Senganur Namadwaar, Senganur Sri Sri Anna Bhajana Madam, Sri Radharani Mandir at Barsana in Uttar Pradesh, Unchagaon—the abode of Sri Lalita Sakhi, foremost among Sri Radharani’s Ashta Sakhis—and at the Sri Kaikadi Maharaj Ashram in Pandharpur.

For many years, our Guru Maharaj cherished a heartfelt desire that Archa Vigrahas of Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Saraswati Swamigal, Sri Sri Anna, and Srimati Manni should also be installed in Jagannath Puri. He resolved that they should be established at Siddha Bakula Math, a place especially dear to him. When he approached the present Peethadhipati of the Math, Mahant Sri Srinivas Das Maharaj, the Mahant readily consented, saying, “If Sri Swamiji is asking, how can we refuse?” New Vigrahas were then commissioned for all three.

Jagannath Puri is also known as Purushottama Kshetra. A lunar month containing two Amavasyas is traditionally called Adhika Masa or Purushottama Masa. This year, the Tamil month of Vaikasi coincided with Purushottama Masa. Since Rohini is the birth star of Sri Sri Anna, and 14 June marks the day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s divine disappearance at Puri, it was most fitting that the consecration took place on 14 June, during Purushottama Masa, in Purushottama Kshetra, under the auspicious Vaikasi Rohini. This also happened to be the day when the 10 day long Adhika Masa Akhanda Mahamantra Satsang led by Guru Maharaj at Govindapuram concluded.

Most significantly, the Vigrahas of Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Saraswati Swamigal, Sri Sri Anna, and Srimati Manni were consecrated by our Guru Maharaj directly beneath the very Siddha Bakula tree under which Sri Haridas Thakur had sat and chanted three lakh Divine Names every day.

Sri Ramesh Ramadas, the blessed auditor from Erode who considers service to our Guru Maharaj to be the very purpose of his life, came to know of this sacred project and earnestly prayed for the opportunity to undertake this kainkaryam. Having received Guru Maharaj’s blessings, he carried out every aspect of the service with meticulous care and devotion, bringing it to completion as a perfect offering at the Guru’s feet.

Through this divine event, all of us have been granted yet another sacred reason and blessed opportunity to undertake the holy pilgrimage to Sri Jagannath Puri more frequently and with even greater devotion.

ஸ்ரீ பகவந்நாம போதேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள் அவர்கள், ஜகந்நாதபுரியில் உள்ள ஸ்வேதகங்கா குளக்கரையில் நாமப்ரபாவத்தை நிரூபணம் செய்தருளினார்கள். இந்த வைபவத்தின் ஸ்மரணார்த்தமாகத்தான், ஸ்ரீ பகவந்நாம போதேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள் ஜீவசமாதியாக எழுந்தருளியிருக்கும் கோவிந்தபுரத்தில் ‘சைதன்ய குடீரம்’ நம் குருநாதரால் நிர்மாணம் செய்யப்பட்டது.
மேலும், இந்த ஜகந்நாதபுரியில்தான், ஸ்ரீ சைதன்ய மஹாப்ரபு அவர்கள், கம்பீரா குகை என்ற இடத்தில் சுமார் 12 வருட காலங்களுக்கு ஸ்ரீ ராதா க்ருஷ்ண யுகள சர்க்காரிடம் ப்ரேம பாவத்தில் தம் நிலை மறந்து லயித்திருந்தார். மஹாமந்திர நாமாசார்யரான ஸ்ரீ ஹரிதாஸ் டாக்கூர் அவர்களின் ஸமாதி மற்றும் அவர் தினமும் 3 லட்சம் நாமம் ஜபித்த இடமான ஸ்ரீ சித்த பகுள மரம், வாசுதேவ சார்வபௌமர் வசித்த இடம் என நமது குருநாதருக்குப் ப்ராணனான மஹாமந்திரம் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட முக்கிய இடங்கள் இங்கு உள்ளன. அதனால், ஸ்ரீ ஜகந்நாத பகவானின் திவ்ய தாமமான ஸ்ரீ பூரி க்ஷேத்திரம் நம் குருநாதரான ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அவர்களுக்கும், நம் குருநாதர் மஹாரண்யம் ஸ்ரீ முரளீதர ஸ்வாமிஜி அவர்களின் மனதிற்கும் மிகவும் நெருக்கமானதாகும்.

அதிலும், நாமாசார்யரான ஸ்ரீ ஹரிதாஸ் டாக்கூர் தினமும் 3 லட்சம் நாமம் ஜபித்த இடமான ஸ்ரீ சித்த பகுள மரம் அமைந்திருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ சித்தபகுள மடம் நம் குருநாதருக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்தமான இடமாகும். நம் குருநாதர் ஜகந்நாதபுரியில் தங்கியிருக்கும் சமயங்களில், பெரும்பாலும் இந்த ஸ்ரீ சித்தபகுள மடத்தில்தான் தங்கியிருந்து நிறைய மஹா மந்திரம் ஜபம் செய்வது வழக்கம்.

நம் குருநாதரின் குருநாதரான மஹாத்மா ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணப்ரேமி ஸ்வாமிகள் (ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா) அவர்களின் முதல் அர்ச்சாவதாரத் திருமேனி, சேங்கனூரில் உள்ள ஸ்ரீ ப்ரேமிக ஜன்மஸ்தானில் “தான் உகந்த திருமேனியாக” கடந்த 2015-ம் ஆண்டு ஸ்ரீ ப்ரேமிக ஜயந்தி அன்று ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து சேங்கனூர் நாமத்வார், சேங்கனூர் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா பஜனை மடம், உத்தரப் பிரதேசம் பர்சானா ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணி மந்திர், ஸ்ரீ ராதாராணியின் அஷ்ட ஸகிகளில் மிகவும் முக்கியமானவரான ஸ்ரீ லலிதா ஸகி கோயில் கொண்டுள்ள உஞ்சகாவ் (உச்சாகாவுன்), ஸ்ரீ பண்டரிபுரத்தில் உள்ள ஸ்ரீ கைகாடி மஹாராஜ் ஆச்ரமத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பகவந்நாம போதேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளுக்கும், ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அவர்களுக்கும் அர்ச்சாவதாரத் திருமேனிகள் இதுவரை நமது குருநாதரால் ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

அதைத் தொடர்ந்து, ஜகந்நாதபுரியிலும் ஸ்ரீ பகவந்நாம போதேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள், ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா மற்றும் ஸ்ரீமதி மன்னி ஆகியோருக்கு மூர்த்திகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டு ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட வேண்டும் என்பது நம் குருநாதரின் நெடுநாளைய ஆசை. அம்மூர்த்திகளைத் தமது மனதிற்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கமான ஸ்ரீ சித்தபகுள மடத்தில் அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானித்து, சித்தபகுள மடத்தின் தற்போதைய பீடாதிபதியான மஹந்த் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீநிவாஸ தாஸ் மஹாராஜ் அவர்களை அணுகிய போது, “ஸ்ரீ ஸ்வாமிஜி கேட்கிறார்” என்று அவரும் சம்மதிக்க, உடன் இம்மூவருக்கும் புதிதாக மூர்த்திகள் செய்விக்கப்பட்டன.

ஜகந்நாதபுரிக்கு ‘புருஷோத்தம க்ஷேத்திரம்’ என்ற ஒரு பெயரும் உண்டு. இரண்டு அமாவாசைகள் வரும் தமிழ் மாதத்திற்கு ‘அதிக மாஸம்’ அல்லது ‘புருஷோத்தம மாஸம்’ என்று பெயர். இந்த வருடம் வைகாசி மாதம் அதுபோல் புருஷோத்தம மாஸமாக அமைந்தது. ரோகிணி நக்ஷத்ரம் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா அவதரித்த நக்ஷத்ரமானதாலும், ஸ்ரீ சைதன்ய மஹாப்ரபு பூரியில் அந்தர்தானமான தினம், ஜூன் மாதம் 14-ம் தேதி என்பதாலும், ஜகந்நாதபுரி புருஷோத்தம க்ஷேத்திரத்தில், புருஷோத்தம மாதத்தில், வைகாசி ரோகிணியில், இந்த ஜூன் மாதம் 14-ம் தேதி ப்ரதிஷ்டை இனிதே நடைபெற்றது. ஸ்ரீ ஹரிதாஸ் டாக்கூர் அவர்கள் எந்த சித்தபகுள மரத்தின் கீழ் அமர்ந்து தினமும் 3 லட்சம் நாமம் ஜபித்தாரோ, அதே சித்தபகுள மரத்தின் நேர் கீழே ஸ்ரீ பகவந்நாம போதேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள், ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ அண்ணா மற்றும் ஸ்ரீமதி மன்னி அவர்களின் மூர்த்திகள் குருநாதரால் ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டன.

நம் குருநாதரின் கைங்கர்யமே வாழ்க்கை என்று வாழ்ந்து வரும் பாக்கியசாலியான ஈரோடு ஆடிட்டர் ஸ்ரீ ரமேஷ் ராமதாஸ் அவர்கள், இப்படி ஒரு கைங்கர்யத்தைக் குருநாதர் செய்யத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார் என்பதை அறிந்து, அக்கைங்கர்யத்தைத் தமக்குத் தர வேண்டும் என்று ப்ரார்த்தனையாகக் கேட்டு வாங்கி, அதைப் பார்த்துப் பார்த்துப் பூரணமாகச் செய்து சமர்ப்பணம் செய்துள்ளார். பூரி ஜகந்நாத யாத்திரையை மேலும் மேலும் அடிக்கடி மேற்கொள்வதற்கு, நம் அனைவருக்கும் இப்படி ஒரு பாக்கியம் கிடைத்துள்ளது.
