Sabarimala and Ramayana

‘Hampi’ in Karnataka is in the banks of river ‘Hamba’. The letter ‘ha’ is often interchanged with ‘pa’ in Kannada language and so this is actually the river is ‘Pamba’.
This was the holy place called Ksihkinta that is mentioned in Ramayana. Vali ruled this kingdom of Kishkinta. Even today, the cave is present, which Vali is said to have entered for a battle and locked up by Sugriva assuming the former to be dead.
It has also been mentioned that devotee Sabari in Ramayana had collected fruits for Sri Rama from the bank of Pamba. The place gets the name ‘Sabari Mala’ owing to her living there.
