Anjaneya and Urad Dal

Urad Dal (Ulundu in tamil) is considered to be a favorite of Lord Anjaneya.
South Indians are more disposed to spicy flavours. So they prepare garlands out of Vadas (a savory made of Urad Dal) and offer it to Anjaneya.
North Indians are more disposed to sweet flavors. So they prepare garlands out of Jalebis or Jangris (this is a sweetmeat made out of lentils and sugar) and offer it to Him.
