The premonition

It was sometime during the July of 2004. Sri Sri Swamiji was then camping at Madhuramurali Bhavanam in Alapakkam. It was a silent night, but not really here. At around 1 am, Sri Sri Swamiji suddenly got restless. He started pacing restlessly across the terrace of the house as though something disastrous was going to happen. His countenance bore a panicked look and it was so atypical of his otherwise calm and composed demeanor.
I stood there watching Sri Sri Swamiji, as He moved towards the corner of the terrace and gripped the wall.
Turning to me, He said, ‘I have this queer feeling all of a sudden. I am feeling as if the ground is spongy and shaky and would give way any time…Don’t you feel so too?’
I nodded in the negative.
He went on to say, ‘We live on the coast, don’t we? What if the seas lost control and suddenly gushed into the land? What would happen to those millions who lived by the coast?” He asked very innocently, “Has a catastrophe like this happened earlier?’
Ignorant as I was, I tried to explain to Him that such incidents are impossible in our place and that they occurred very very rarely.
But no words of mine convinced Sri Sri Swamiji, who continued his quick skittish walk, continuously chanting the Name of the Lord.
The whole incident seemed like an unsolved mystery to me, until, months later, on December 26, 2004, we experienced that gory catastrophe.
Powerful earthquakes and underwater landslides in the ocean floor caused mammoth waves to rise and wash off the land. The disastrous tsunami struck the coasts of many South East Asian countries, including Chennai and caused a huge death-toll and loss to the whole world.
Later, as I recounted the whole incident, I was wonderstruck as to how every cosmic change affects the One that is interlinked with every cosmic change!
