He knows our minds!

Sri Ramakrishna Hari our Swamiji’s devotee, writes about one of his experiences —

The Guru is all pervading. The fetters of the body and mind do not shackle him. He knows what is transpiring in the innermost recess of one’s heart.

It was one afternoon when I felt the need to convey something very personal to Gurudev. But, even the very thought of approaching Swamiji for this purpose rattled me. I felt extremely embarrassed.

With every passing hour, the desire increased and gradually developed into a great urge. It was dusk and the sun was setting. Gurudev was available on that evening at Premika Bhavanam, where he normally resides in Chennai. The Satsang was supposed to start at 7 PM. I decided to go a little early to afford myself a chance to talk to him. When I reached the place at around 5.45 PM, there were about 15 people in the hall. Swamiji was talking to some visitors. I sat at the farther end of the hall. Here inside, my mind was raging a battle with itself. One moment, it said there is nothing to hide with your soul-companion. The very next moment, engulfed in embarrassment, it lost hope of talking to Him. Though gazing at Gurudev, I could not focus as the mind was immersed in this dilemma.

After conversing with the visitors, He went inside the room. People started pouring in and in a few minutes, the Satsang would start. So I thought, the chances of my talking to him were dim. However, I resolved to myself that, if Gurudev were to call me inside, I would definitely unload what I was carrying in my heart. What happened next?

In a couple of minutes, He came out and signaled me to come inside the room. Now, I was alone with Him in the room. He started posing a few questions? On and off, he would ask, ‘then, what is the news?’ I would hesitantly say ‘Nothing much’. It was clear that he wanted me to open out. Still, I couldn’t bring this topic.
