Let’s Celebrate the Virtue

We celebrate Diwali on the day Lord Krishna killed Narakasura. It wasnt Bhagavan Krishna who wanted this day to be celebrated. It was Narakasura who asked this for his last wish.

We may wonder why we follow something which an asura (demon) wished. It is only in admiration of that virtue that he possessed; where he did not wish for others to mourn his death and be grieved, but to celebrate it. When it is normal for one to expect another to feel sad during one’s moment of grief, it is indeed a virtue to want others to celebrate and be happy even at such a moment.

Let us, in admiration of this virtue, celebrate Deepavali by beginning our day with Ganga snaanam and light lamps to spread joy.
