Thirupalli Odam Utsav at Srirangam

ஸ்ரீரங்கநாதன் பள்ளிகொண்டிருக்கும் பூலோகவைகுண்டமான ஸ்ரீரங்கமாகிய திவ்யதேசத்தில், வருகிற 23/02/2023 வியாழக்கிழமை முதல் 03/03/2023 வெள்ளிக்கிழமை வரை ‘திருப்பள்ளி ஓடம்’ என்கிற உத்ஸவம் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இது நம்பெருமாளுக்கு மிகவும் உகந்த உத்ஸவமாகும். ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் தன்னைத்தேடி கோவிலுக்கு வராதிருக்கும் பாக்யமற்றவர்களையும் கூட, தானே கண்டு அருள்புரியவேண்டுமென்ற பரமகருணையாலேயே உத்ஸவகாலங்களில் புறப்பாடு கண்டருள்கிறார். பரமதயாளுவான ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் இந்த உத்ஸவத்தின் போது, அப்படி தினமும் ஒவ்வொரு வாஹனத்தில் உள்வீதியில் எழுந்தருளும் அழகைக் காண கண்கோடி வேண்டும்.

ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் புறப்பாடு கண்டருளும் உள்வீதியில் தான், தாயார் ஸந்நிதியை ஒட்டி, ‘ஸ்ரீப்ரேமிகவேதாஶ்ரமம்’ என்கிற நமது ருக்வேத- யஜுர்வேதபாடசாலை அமைந்துள்ளது. ஸ்ரீஸ்வாமிஜியால் தொடங்கப்பட்ட இந்த வேதபாடசாலை, நமது ‘ஸ்ரீஸாந்தீபனிகுருகுலம் ஸ்ரீரங்கம் ட்ரஸ்ட்’ மூலம் நிர்வகிக்கப்படுகின்றது. தற்பொழுது இந்த வேதபாடசாலையில் 10 ருக்வேத வித்யார்த்திகளும் 6 யஜுர்வேதவித்யார்த்திகளும் அத்யயனம் செய்கின்றனர். ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாளும் தாயாரும், நமது குழந்தைகளின் வேதஒலியைத் தினமும் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்படும்படி, தாயார் ஸந்நிதி அருகிலேயே நமது வேதபாடசாலை அமைந்திருப்பது ஸ்ரீக்ருஷ்ணக்ருபையே என்று ஸ்ரீஸ்வாமிஜி எப்பொழுதும் ஸ்மரித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பார்.

வருடாவருடம் நடக்கும் இந்த ‘திருப்பள்ளி ஓடம்’ உத்ஸவத்தில் ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் நித்யமே நமது வேதபாடசாலை வழியாகத்தான் எழுந்தருளுவார். ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஒவ்வொரு வாஹனத்தில் ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் எழுந்தருளுவது மிகவும் திவ்யமாகவும் கண்கொள்ளா காட்சியாகவும் இருக்கும். ஸ்ரீரங்கக்ஷேத்ரமே உத்ஸவ கோலம்பூண்டு ஆனந்தமாகவிளங்கும். நமது ஸ்ரீஸ்வாமிஜியும் வருடாவருடம் மிகவும் ஆவலுடன் இவ்வைபவத்தில் தவறாமல் கலந்துகொண்டு அனுபவிப்பார். இந்த உத்ஸவத்தின் பொருட்டு நமது பாடசாலை வாசலில் பந்தல் போட்டு மிகவும் அழகாக அலங்கரித்து வைத்திருப்பார். அழகாக கம்பீரமாக எழுந்தருளும் ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள், நமது பாடசாலை வாசலில் எழுந்தருளும் போது நமது ஸ்ரீஸ்வாமிஜி, பாடசாலைக் குழந்தைகளுடன் சேர்ந்து எதிர்கொண்டழைத்து ஆனந்தமாக தரிசிப்பார்.

இந்த உத்ஸவத்தின் மூன்றாம் நாள் மாலை (25/02/2023) ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் கற்பகவ்ருஷ வாஹனத்தில் எழுந்தருளுவார். தற்பொழுது ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் எழுந்தருளும் இந்த கற்பகவ்ருக்ஷ வாஹனம் புதிதாக நிர்மாணம் செய்யப்பட்டதாகும். இதை நிர்மாணம் செய்து தரும் கைங்கர்யத்தை, ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் நமக்கு நியமித்து, நம் மூலம் நடத்திக்கொண்டுள்ளான். இது ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் நமக்கு அருளிய பெரும் பாக்யமாகும். ஆராய்ந்து அருளும் ஸர்வபலப்ரதனான ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாளுக்கே கற்பகவ்ருக்ஷவாஹனம் தகும்.

நான்காம் நாள் மாலை (26/02/2023) ஸ்ரீநம்பெருமாள் கருடவாஹனத்தில் எழுந்தருளி திவ்யமாக தரிசனம் கொடுப்பார். அப்பொழுது ஸ்ரீஸ்வாமிஜி அனைத்து ஸந்நிதி கைங்கர்யபரர்கள் மற்றும் திவ்யப்ரபந்த வேதபாராயண வித்வான்களுக்கும் வஸ்த்ரங்கள் மற்றும் ஸம்பாவனைகளை சமர்ப்பிப்பார். பிறகு ஸ்ரீபாதம் தாங்கிகளுக்கும் ஸம்பாவனை மற்றும் வஸ்த்ரங்களை அளித்து கௌரவிப்பார்.

இந்த உத்ஸவம் மிகவும் ஆனந்தகரமாக, வைகுண்டத்திலேயே உள்ளது போன்ற அனுபவத்தைத் தரும்.

The Thirupalli Odam Utsavam is scheduled to take place from 23rd February to 3rd March this year, at Srirangam Kshetram, also known as the “bhUlOKa vaikuNTam.” This is a very auspicious festival for Namperumal. Even those unfortunate ones who do not, or cannot come to the temple in search of Namperumal, are blessed by His boundless mercy during the purappADu (procession) in these utsavs, where Namperumal Himself goes out to cast His Divine Glance on them. Even a million eyes would not be sufficient to worship His magnificence and brilliance during the purappADu on the different vAhanAs (vehicles) everyday.

Close to the Thaayar sannidhi in the uttara vIdhi (North Street) is our Rig-yajur vEdapATasAlA, Sri Premika Vedhashram. This pATasAlA, founded by our Sri Swamiji is being managed by Sri Sandeepani Gurukulam, Srirangam Trust. 10 Rig Veda students and 6 Yajur Veda students are being tutored in this pATasAlA. Sri Swamiji, often mentions that it is the Grace of Lord Krishna, that our pAtasAlA is in such a place where thAyAr and Namperumal can hear the Veda pArAyaNam of our pATasAlA students everyday.

Every year, during the Thirupalli Odam Utsavam, Namperumal’s procession passes through our pATasAlA. It is a divine sight to behold Namperumal in the different vAhanAs each day. It is blissful to see the entire Srirangam in a celebrative mode. Our Sri Swamiji joyfully attends this Utsavam with great enthusiasm every year. A pandal is tied outside the doors of our patasala, and the place is beautifully decorated. Sri Swamiji, along with our patasala students, would delightfully have the darshan of Namperumal, striding in all His Majesty during the procession.

On the 3rd day of the Utsavam, (February 25th), Namperumal gives darshan in the karpagavruksha vAhanam. This vAhanA has been newly consecrated. Bhagavan has compassionately made us His instruments in fulfilling this kainkarya. This is indeed our great fortune! Karpagavruksha vAhanam, that of the wish fulfilling tree, is the most suited vAhanam for Namperumal, the One who watches over us, and bestows all our prayers.

Namperumal gives darshan in the Garuda vAhanam on the fourth day, (February 26th). On that day Sri Swamiji gives vastrAs (clothes) and dakshinA as an offering to all servitors of the temple, and the vidwAns who chant Vedas and Divya Prabandhams in the utsav. Sri Swamiji also gives these offerings to honour the srIpAda thAngis of Bhagavan (the ones who carry Bhagavan on their shoulders during the procession).

This utsav blissfully transports one to Vaikunta itself.
