As long as the ‘I’ remains, you are going to die. As long as you die, the ‘I’ will continue to live.

~ HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

As per Vedanta, all thoughts that arise in our mind are preceded by ‘aham spuranam’ (‘I’). However, a devotee views it from a different perspective. Even if he gets a single good thought, or recites the Divine Name of God once, he believes that it happened only because of the boundless grace of his Guru.

‘I” represents ego and “O” represents universality. If we replace the “I” in “living” with “O”, it will become “loving”!

God has, in His mercy, placed a shortcoming in each creature. The peacock is very beautiful, but its cry is intolerable. Its voice is very hoarse. The cuckoo sings melodiously, but is ugly looking. The lion that is very powerful, is lazy. If it were active, not a single animal would be alive in the forest! Thus, God has, in His mercy, kept the ego in check with such shortcomings.
